Dr Ankita Sharma is a Senior Research Fellow for the Australia India Trauma Systems Collaboration (AITSC) at JPN Apex Trauma Center, New Delhi. She completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla and attained her Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Management from the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI).
She is a AAAM certified Abbreviated Injury Scaling (AIS) coder and has attended various workshops on Trauma Education and Quality Improvement.
She presented a paper “Retreiving trauma registry data – Challenges faced by a data collector“” as part of AITSC & was awarded second place in seventh international conference of Indian Society for Trauma and Acute Care (ISTAC) Trauma-2014.
Dr Sharma is a Dental Surgeon by profession and a Public Health manager. She has worked as an Assistant dental surgeon for approximately 2yrs and has since worked in the Centre for Chronic Disease and Control (CCDC), Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI).
As a Senior Research Fellow for AITSC, Dr Sharma is responsible for the coordination, collection and entry of patient data into the AITSC Trauma Registry, ensuring data is of high quality at JPN Apex Trauma Center. She also provides operational support to the Site Principal Investigator assisting with the implementation of the research projects.
