Mr Ashish Jhakal completed 3 Years of General Nursing and Midwifery from Gayathri Educational Academy, Bangalore in 2003. He is currently a Trauma Nurse Coordinator in the Emergency Department of JPN Apex Trauma Centre, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). His area of interest in trauma is Injury Prevention and Emergency Trauma Care.
Mr Jhakal is a certified ATLS Coordinator (Course of American College of Surgeons), a certified ATCN Instructor (Course of Society of Trauma Nurses), a certified PHTLS Instructor (Course of National Association of Emergency Medical Technician), a certified AIS Coder (Course of AAAM) and a RTTDC Instructor in India. He has also attended the Trauma Systems & Mass Casualty Management Course at Rambam Health Care Campus in Isarel.
Mr Jhakal joined AIIMS in March 2007 as staff nurse. He has since been employed as a Trauma Nurse Coordinator and Data Manager for the Institutional Trauma Registry at JPNATC, AIIMS. As one of the Trauma Nurse Coordinators, Mr Jhakal is responsible for demonstrating expert knowledge, skills and commitment in trauma nursing practice. He is accountable for development and implementation of standards of care for trauma patients and their families.
Mr Jhakal is the Program Manager for AITSC, overseeing all projects and interventions for all 4 Indian sites. He is also responsible for monitoring and supervising the data collection process at JPN Apex Trauma Centre; providing guidance to the data collectors and ensuring high quality data collection is maintained.
