Dr. Jayanthi Rangarajan is Dean of the Madras Medical College & Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, Chennai. She graduated with a MBBS from the University of Madras in 1986 and an M.D. (Intemal Medicine) from The Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University in 1991. She achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (Glasgow) in July 2016.
Dr. Jayanthi Rangarajan is a senior faculty member, with teaching experience spanning over three decades. She is an Expert Committee Member (Academic Board), The Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR Medical University for: Reframing of MBBS syllabus, 2016; and the Framing and Syllabus Fellowship in Pain Management course, 2016.
Dr. Jayanthi Rangarajan’s research themes include seizure disorders, poisoning and acute stroke. She has 14 publications including eight original research papers in indexed journals as well as an authored chapter in the Manual of Hypertension. Dr.Jayanthi Rangarajan has participated and presented papers at national and international conferences. Additionally, she was the primary guide for dissertation topics for postgraduate students and guide for the department of medicine. Dr. Jayanthi Rangarajan’s was awarded the Certificate of Honour in Pathology and Nutrition distinction in Ophthalmology, ENT and Clinical medicine. She has life membership at the Association of Physicians of India; Indian Medical Association; and International Medical Science Academy.
