Dr Soumyadeep Bhaumik

Dr. Soumyadeep Bhaumik is a Research Fellow at the George Institute for Global Health- India. He is part of the International Orthopaedic Multicentre Cohort Study in fracture care (INORMUS) funded through NHMRC, leading the sites in India and Project Manager for the RePAIR trial of the Australia India Trauma Systems Collaboration (AITSC).
Dr. Bhaumik has studied medicine in India and international public health in the United Kingdom. He has worked across India and has extensive experience in the domain of evidence syntheses, guideline development, development of implementation and evaluation tools for health programs and health policy.
Dr Bhaumik’ s contribution in public health has been recognized with several awards including a scholarship from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (2015), and the Youth Leadership Award (2013) from the Academy of Family Physicians of India and the awards for the Country Representative of the Year from the Health Information for All, UK in 2012 and Special Commendation of the Year in 2016 and 2017. He is also an Analyses Advisor to The BMJ, Associate Editor, BMJ Global Health and Co-Convenor of the Cochrane Priority Setting Methods Group .
Dr. Bhaumik is part of the AITSC research team and manages the RePAIR study sites in India, providing operational and technical support to the study sites in India and is responsible for maintaining data quality.
